WORLD'S FIRST EVER WATER BASED COMPUTER MADE BY INDIAN-ORIGIN SCIENTIST MANU PRAKASH !!!!!

Stanford scientist Manu Prakash makes water based computer!!!

Manu Prakash, who amazed the world last year by building a paper microscope, has now come up with a computer that works by moving water droplets. Prakash is an assistant professor of bioengineering at Stanford University and he has developed the water computer with the help of two of his students. He was born in Meerut, India.

What Prakash did was devise a system in which tiny water droplets are trapped in a magnetic field. When the field is rotated or flipped, the droplets move in precise direction and distance. This became the basis of the computer clock, which is an essential component of any computer.

Computer clocks are responsible for nearly every modern convenience. Smartphones, DVRs, airplanes, internet - without a clock, none of these could operate without frequent and serious complications. Nearly every computer program requires several simultaneous operations, each conducted in a perfect step-by-step manner. A clock makes sure that these operations start and stop at the same times, thus ensuring that the information synchronizes.

The results are dire if a clock isn't present. It's like soldiers marching in formation: If one person falls dramatically out of time, it won't be long before the whole group falls apart. The same is true if multiple simultaneous computer operations run without a clock to synchronize them, Prakash explained.

"The reason computers work so precisely is that every operation happens synchronously; it's what made digital logic so powerful in the first place," Prakash said. www.eveyknown.blogspot.com

The study describing the water computer, published in Nature Physics, has all the technical details of the way this computer works. A simple-state machine including 1-bit memory storage (known as "flip-flop") is also demonstrated using the above basic building blocks.

The current chips are about half the size of a postage stamp, and the droplets are smaller than poppy seeds, but Katsikis said that the physics of the system suggests it can be made even smaller. Combined with the fact that the magnetic field can control millions of droplets simultaneously, this makes the system exceptionally scalable.

"We can keep making it smaller and smaller so that it can do more operations per time, so that it can work with smaller droplet sizes and do more number of operations on a chip," said graduate student and co-author Jim Cybulski. "That lends itself very well to a variety of applications."

Prakash said the most immediate application might involve turning the computer into a high-throughput chemistry and biology laboratory. Instead of running reactions in bulk test tubes, each droplet can carry some chemicals and become its own test tube, and the droplet computer offers unprecedented control over these interactions.

From the perspective of basic science, part of why the work is so exciting, Prakash said, is that it opens up a new way of thinking of computation in the physical world. Although the physics of computation has been previously applied to understand the limits of computation, the physical aspects of bits of information has never been exploited as a new way to manipulate matter at the mesoscale (10 microns to 1 millimeter).

ROMAN REIGNS VS. BRAY WYATT !!!!

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt !!!!! eveyknown.blogspot.com

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt at WWE Battleground

After denying Roman Reigns a victory in the career-changing Money in the Bank Ladder Match, The New Face of Fear will have to answer to The Big Dog at WWE Battleground.
Though the exact motivation behind Wyatt’s actions is presently unclear, there is no doubt his opening salvo will bring into conflict two of WWE’s most dangerous Superstars.

The WWE World Heavyweight Title barely eluded Reigns’ grasp earlier this year, and with the all-important the Money in the Bank World Title Contract now out of the picture, Reigns will assuredly take out his frustration on the Superstar responsible for the crucial loss.

Despite their many dissimilarities, Reigns’ and Wyatt’s meteoric rises share significant commonalities. Both Superstars cut their teeth in NXT before taking WWE by storm as members of two of this era’s most powerful factions, The Shield and The Wyatt Family. While Wyatt was unambiguously the leader of his stable, Reigns carved out a niche as The Hounds of Justice’s Big Dog. The WWE Universe still vividly remembers the wild six-man showdowns that ensued between the trios. More recently, Reigns managed to eke out a win against Wyatt on Raw when Reigns’ spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match was on the line.

What will happen when Reigns and Wyatt square off one-on-one? Can Reigns’ full-force offense negate the psychological warfare of The Eater of Worlds? Or will Wyatt’s mind games and all-consuming appetite for punishing others prove too much even for Reigns?
Watch WWE Battleground to see which Superstar will assert his will, live on WWE Network on July1.

Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in a still from Bajrangi Bhaijaan.Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has opened to a fabulous response at the box office, but the film has failed to trump Baahubali. While SS Rajamouli's epic had earned Rs 50 crore on its first day, Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has managed Rs 27.25 crore, a figure that early estimates had suggested. However, the real litmus test of the film will be on July 18, when Ramzan is finally over.

REVIEW: Bajrangi Bhaijaan has a lot more to offer than just Salman Khan

WOM is super!!!!While Ramzan kept several moviegoers from visiting the thereat yesterday (July 17), when Bajrangi Bhaijaan hit the screens, the collections are expected to be a lot higher today. The film has become Salman Khan's second biggest opener as far as box office earnings are concerned. His last collaboration with Kabir Khan, Ek Tha Tiger, had netted an amount of Rs 32.93 crore on its opening day.

BAN ON MAGGI IN INDIA

                                          BAN ON MAGGI

Nestle India is in the process of destroying Maggi instant noodles worth ₹320 crore after it was banned by central food safety regulator FSSAI due to presence of lead and taste enhancer Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) beyond permissible limits. The company said it is in the process of withdrawing the stock of Maggi noodles from markets, factories and distribution and destroying it.
Its trouble started on may 16, 2005 when a batch of Maggi noodles was found to contain dangerous levels of lead. A complaint against Nestlé India was filed in the additional chief judicial magistrate's court in barabanki district. The food safety and drug administration (FDA) in uttar Pradesh had collected more than two dozen packs of instant noodles from stores across the state.
According to a Reuters report,  they found a lead concentration of 17.2 parts per million (ppm), which is way beyond the permissible limit. They also found very high levels of MSG. Soon after the recall of Maggi noodles from across uttar Pradesh , other states like Maharashtra and Gujarat also got Maggi noodles tested, results of which are awaited.

  IMMEDIATE ACTION BY FSSAI

Central food safety regulator FSSAI  has asked state food commissioners to inspect and evaluate all packaged product available in markets across the country in the wake of Maggi controversy. FSSAI had also handed over a list of 500 products rejected by it as of April 30, 2015 to the state food safety commissioners.
Earlier this month , the FSSAI had banned NestlĂ© s Maggi saying it was ' unsafe and hazardous ' after test found presence of lead and monosodium glutamate above permissible limits. Nestle' s had also withdrawn the instant noodles brand from market.
Following this, FSSAI had ordered testing of noodles , pastas and macaroni brands such as Top Ramen , Foodles and Wai Wai sold and manufactured by seven companies , to check compliance of norms.
In a letter to commissioners of food safety of all states and UTs, FSSAI had asked them to test samples of noodles , pastas and macaroni (with taste maker) on a set of comprehensive parameters. Cake and masala/taste maker should be tested separately.
While, nestle continued to contend that the levels of lead were within permissible limits (as opposed to the findings of some test that purportedly indicated otherwise) several states also became pro-active by issuing thier own ban orders.

  WHAT IS MSG???....

Mono sodium glutamate (MSG) is a type of amino acid found naturally in many agricultural products. It is often added artificially to packaged food to enhance flavour. Native to China, there have been reports of adverse effects of consuming MSG including nausea, upset digestive system, headaches, etc.
Symptoms of MSG are collectively called Chinese restaurant Syndrome (CRS).  While MSG is said to be harmful for health, there has been no conclusive proof regarding the adverse effects of MSG. Food safety regulations in India , however require companies to mention the amount of MSG added on the packaging.
In USA and Europe also , MSG is considered as a food additive with  quantitative limits . In Australia and new Zealand, use of MSG has little to no restrictions. The FDA considers addition of MSG to foods to be generally recognised as safe'. And yet when MSG is added in foods, the FDA insists it be listed on the label. This is because over the years , specially since the 1960s, FDA has received many complaints of adverse reactions to foods containing MSG.
Does Maggi Have Lead Too ?
The test results showed that the samples of Maggi they tested contained 17 parts per million (ppm) lead, whereas the permissible limit is 0.01 ppm . Exposure to more than permissible amount of lead can affect several functions of the body including the central nervous system , kidneys , and the immune system . The effects are worse for children and lead can affect cognitive function of a child.
